Van Wyk completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2003 and graduated cum laude with a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2015. She also holds qualifications in furniture making, specialising in wood machining and cabinet making.
Her involvement in various community engagement workshops and artist talks between 2007 and 2013 significantly influenced and shaped her artistic practice. Her recent solo exhibition, Future Mythology, was held at Everard Read Cape Town from 11 May to 1 June 2022.
Van Wyk has participated in numerous group exhibitions across South Africa, including exhibitions at NIROX Sculpture Park, and has been awarded residencies both locally and internationally. In 2024 she presented a talk in the United States as part of the Curator’s Talk event accompanying the Collide group exhibition at Featherstone Center for the Arts in Martha’s Vineyard.
Her most recent solo was titled, Love Default exhibition at NIROX Covered Space, held from 2 November 2024 to 2 March 2025. In November 2025, she participated in a month-long residency at Villa-Legodi.
